Things are running smoothly here at the SellFable Archives, and I hope this update finds you well. The SellFable Archives are all organised (ahem… 😉 and working on several new projects: at the moment I am pushing pixels. In other words, I am expanding the electric universe into the digital realm, with an app called Procreate.

If you’re not familiar with Procreate: it is amazing professional painting and drawing software. Combined with an iPad Pro and Apple Pencil, the possibilities of creating art are endless. It comes incredibly close to actually working with oil paint and pencil (or other mediums), without the mess, the sharpening of pencils, or even the need of a large studio. A bonus: all your creations organised in one place.

It’s a nice change from a cluttered studio with hundreds of sketechs swarming around. But mostly, it’s a way to set my mind free of the usual tracks and methods.

Have a look at the Electric Sea print (update: sold out), which was also painted in Procreate.

So, I’m sharing some of the projects I’m working on in an early stage, and give you some background story:

The SellFonaut
This is a black and white piece, centered around the detached mind and body, suited up to protect against ‘the outside’. On a journey, exploring, meeting amazing creatures. Still very sketchy, but the face shows the direction this work might go when finished. This is a high resolution work, A3 size (297×420 mm).

Copper Head
You may have seen the little animation I posted on Instagram? It shows how I am really just having fun and playing around. Once in a while I like to work with color. It’s a whole different approach compared to the black and white grisallie. It allows me to get out of my comfort zone. This is a high resolution work as well, size: 400×500 mm.

High resolution basically means that when printed on their respective size, the reproduction will be in a very high quality. In this case the resolution is 300 dpi (dots per inch). Sorry if this is too much technical info!
