A detached ‘mind’ is free floating above the world. A SellFable Wirehead in the clouds. Maybe it’s about to embark on a journey into the unknown. Maybe it’s lost and trying to find meaning in its existence. Or maybe one of a million other optional states in this or other realities, its antenna ready to receive any signal. Radio waves propagating through space and electric currents moving in metal conductors.
The theme of this drawing is ‘holding it together’. The mind, sanity, reality, reason, society, the world, the universe. Where are our minds?
Clouds are building up in the background. Clouds can show the future as they approach, they give us rain, can be humbling and hold the power of lightning. But they can also make us relax, dream and give us hope.
Below, a crumbling flat earth colonized with cities, villages, electricity systems and factories. This habitat, an island in the sky, is detached from the head… as if the mind is already focused on something else. Rocks and individual islands are dramatically, eternally floating apart, into isolation & into the void. Imagine your shoulders staring up at your head while it decides to go its separate way… imagine us, humans, staring at the sun as it decides to set off into the kosmos.
Traveling from island to island, from state of mind to state of mind. What will we encounter on a journey like this? Which reality do we choose to travel in? Where is your mind? Endless loops have no beginnings and no ends but many sights to see.
